Lyons Fiddle Fest planning in-person event for 2021 with new venue

Organizers behind the Lyons Fiddle Fest have announced the festival will return live and in-person on Sunday Sept 19th, 2021 at Bear Creek Mountain Resort.

Event officials say they are moving the Fiddle Fest out of Lyons for several reasons. The creek at the Lyons Park received major damage due to the heavy rains. Organizers say the park will not be usable for the Fiddle Fest again this year and maybe even next year.

“The core Planning Team of the Fiddle Fest feel the event is too important to Berks County to wait another year or two before having another Festival” reads a statement from festival organizers.

The move to Bear Creek Mountain Resort was also spurred by a decrease in volunteer staffing. “The set-up, execution, and tear-down has been very challenging the past several years. Also, we were outgrowing that cozy little park.”

“The Lyons Park has been a great home for us, as we crowed together in the shade, for the past 38 years and We are grateful to the Lyons Borough Council and Community for hosting us all of those years.”

Aware that moving the Fiddle Festival means it will ‘feel’ a little different, organizers say they are making every attempt to keep the Festival as familiar as they can.

“We are looking forward to gathering at Bear Creek Mountain Resort with plenty of Lawn Chair seating, more room for the Jammers, a new Crafter area, and plenty of parking. A new home, a new name, but the same ‘feel!’”
