Mifflin Community Days turns into ‘Drive N’ Dine’ Labor Day Weekend

The Greater Governor Mifflin League Community Days event was scheduled to be held from Monday June 29th – Saturday July 4th; however, due to state emergency regulations associated to the COVID-19 pandemic surrounding the safety of our patrons, volunteers, and vendors, Community Days was cancelled.

This is the 1st time in the festival’s history that it has been cancelled and organizers say that decision was not taken lightly by the members of the GGML Board.

Even though the organization was forced to cancel this year’s Community Days, there was broad consensus among the board members that we wanted to give something back to the community in the form of a smaller-scaled event and after significant brain-storming, we created “Drive N’ Dine”.

The “Drive N’ Dine” event will be held over Labor Day weekend on the campus of the Governor Mifflin Senior High School for three days on Saturday Sep. 5, Sunday Sep. 6, and Monday Sep. 7.

The event will be open from 12-7pm each day, rain or shine. Some of Community Days’ most-popular and supporting vendors will be providing food for sale including Johnny’s Pizza, Sammy’s French Fries, JP Concessions, and Al’s Sausage. Fair food favorites will be amply available for sale including funnel cakes, pizza, French Fries, soft-serve ice cream, sausage sandwiches, and many others.

Guests are encouraged to support these vendors in the form of take-out orders or they will be able to eat while parking their cars in the parking lot of the Governor Mifflin Senior High School and enjoy our featured entertainment each day including The Uptown Band on Saturday, 23-Year Old Award-Winning Elvis Tribute Artist Jeff Krick, Jr. on Sunday, and Country/Rock Vocalist/Guitarist Cody Tyler on Monday.

Entertainment will take place each day from 2:30-5:30pm. Every other parking space will be open for parking to allow for social-distancing and guests are encouraged to bring their chairs to sit at their cars. No large crowd gatherings will be permitted. We will also be offering our popular 50-50 raffles each day as well as other prizes.
