As the world continues to rebuild and re-achieve a sense of post-pandemic normalcy, it is no secret that many struggle more with mental health issues than ever before as our nation emerges from a sense of collective trauma.
According to a World Health Organization article published in 2022, “In the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, global evidence of anxiety and depression increased by a massive 25%.”
In these years following the pandemic shutdown as individuals grapple with a “new normal”, mental health services have, in some ways, never been needed more than they are right now. Alternative Consulting Enterprises, LLC (ACE), located in Shillington, is proud to support Berks County by offering many different types of essential mental health services for individuals of all ages.
According to ACE’s website, altcsllc.org, Alternative Consulting Enterprise LLC is “a Pennsylvania-based outpatient psychiatric facility providing Outpatient Psychiatric Services for children and adults.” ACE originally opened their doors to the public in 2000, and has been working steadily ever since to support the mental health of Berks County individuals through the work of some of the finest therapists and psychiatrists in the area.
“We offer individual counseling for both adults and kids, as well as marriage therapy and couples counseling,” shared ACE’s Director, Seth Modesto. “We also offer both in-office and telehealth services for everything, and we have a bilingual staff.”
Mr. Modesto shared that ACE currently employs 8 counselors who are trained to help a wide variety of mental health issues in a variety of ways, including verified treatments such as EMDR and hypnosis (to name a few). “We have a mixture of masters level and licensed counselors [as part of our team],” said Modesto. “We have compassionate, skilled counselors, and we pride ourselves on having a very quick turn-around for referrals–we try to make sure that clients are in and receiving treatment within seven days [from the date that a potential client fills out the intake form]. We also have a psychiatrist and a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and we have the ability to prescribe medication for patients mere days after their intake.”
In a time of unprecedented financial difficulty for many families, it is also important to note that ACE accepts many different types of health insurance, including Medicare, medical assistance, Aetna, and Capital Blue Cross/Blue Shield, to name a few. Mr. Modesto shared that ACE is currently accepting referrals, and that they are open to the community. A full list of mental health services that they offer is available on their website here: altcsllc.org/our-services.
