The Reading Science Center aims to provide educational and entertaining hands-on science and technology experiences for the community, schools, and families.
We are a hands-on science center with 50+ exhibits. We are completely interactive and staffed by volunteers. We are located in Downtown Reading and support children, families, and local programs in exploring STEM.
What can new clients expect? They will be greeted by a large scale rocket coming down our staircase to the Center. They will be checked in by a volunteer and offered an explanation on how the Center could be navigated. We offer BINGO & SCAVENGER HUNTS to aid in your exploration of the RSC. A typical visit is 2.5 hours in length. There is also a classroom activity between 12 – 3p.
Parking available at the DoubleTree Convention Parking lot with 3 hour validation at the Reading Science Center.
Volunteer Do you love STEM? Do you want to be a founding volunteer member helping us to build the momentum for our opening year of the Reading Science Center #RDGsci, located on Penn Street in downtown Reading?
We want your help! Maybe you have an hour to give conducting tours, maybe you have weekend and after school hours to teach in our cell lab – whatever you have to offer in time and talent, we will find you a volunteer job that can help us make Berks County’s first Reading Science Center a huge community success.
