The Berks County Board of Commissioners agreed Wednesday morning to support providing COVID relief funding to the Reading Fightin Phils and the Santander Arena and Santander Performing Arts Center.
The Commissioners will officially vote to accept a resolution to provide the support at their regular board meeting on Thursday, July 15.

During Tuesday’s Berks County Operations meeting, representatives from both entertainment venues shared about the financial losses they experienced due to the pandemic.
Pamela Shupp Menet, Berks County Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Economic Development, recommended that the County make a contribution to both organizations for up to $3 million or 50 percent of eligible lost revenue.
