West Reading held its 93rd annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Delaney’s Circle on Friday.
Organized by the West Reading Recreation Commission and hosted by West Reading Mayor Andrew Kearney, the evening included performances by the Berks Ballet Theatre, Wyomissing Area High School Camerata Singers, Chris and Julie Care and Donna Danielski.
In August of 2020, high winds from a severe thunderstorm brought down the tree in Delaney’s Circle. To replace the tree, a new tree was donated by the Grande family and Plow Farms.
The event concluded with a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus to light the tree. Following the event, Santa and Mrs. Claus invited family’s to Reading City Church on 7th Avenue for additional photos, cookies and hot chocolate.
