Gander RV & Outdoor in Hamburg unveiled its new massive American Flag Saturday morning during a ceremony at the store.
The massive flag, which can be seen from Interstate 78, sits on a 130 foot pole and measures 40 foot tall by 80 foot wide.
The ceremony kicked off with a brief history of Memorial Day by Business Development Manager, Bryan Sage, while a group of first responders lifted the flag to the pole.
As the flag was being raised, a Gander RV employee, Sarah Gonzalez, sung the National Anthem. Local Veterans, Gander staff, the Mayor of Hamburg, Tilden Township Police, and the Hamburg Fire Department all watched as the flag unfurled at the top of the pole.
“The Pandemic affected a lot of families, friends, employees, and the community” Ryan Carpenter, General Manager, Gander RV of Hamburg. “I think it was a great thing to do for the community and to honor those who have sacrificed so much for our Country.”
