State Police offering Child Safety Seat Check-ups in Hamburg & Reading

The Pennsylvania State Police will be hosting free child safety seat check-up events next week in Berks County in conjunction with their ‘click it or ticket’ campaign.

PSP Reading is hosting two event dates at their barracks, 600 Kenhorst Boulevard, Monday, May 17th from 2-8pm, and Sunday, May 23rd from 9-3pm.

PSP Hamburg is hosting their event Tuesday, May 18th from 2-8pm. The Hamburg event will be held at the Bridge Church parking lot, 3561 Old Route 22 in Windsor Township.

At the safety seat check, troopers will explain how to correctly install the seat, correct any errors in the installation, and check seats for recalls. The checks are free of charge and not appointment is needed.

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A child under 13 years old is involved in a car crash every 33 seconds.
