UPDATE 8/18/19 8:30pm – Advisory has expired
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania until 8:30pm.
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in a few spots, and more rain is likely. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Roadway flooding can also be expected in areas of poor drainage.
Some locations that could experience flooding include: Reading, Pottstown, Wyomissing, Birdsboro, Kutztown, Fleetwood, Sinking Spring, Laureldale, East Greenville, Womelsdorf, Wernersville, Newmanstown, Topton, Leesport, Shoemakersville, Bally, Bernville, Bechtelsville, Green Lane and Lyons.
How to Prepare
A Flood Advisory means ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. Do not drive across flooded roadways. The water may be deeper than you think.
