Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Berks County

ADVISORY CANCELLED – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Berks and Western Chester County. Including the cities of Reading, Honey Brook, and Oxford.

The advisory is in effect from 4pm Sunday (12/1/2019) to 1am Tuesday (12/3/2019) in anticipation of a long duration winter storm, which is expected Sunday through Monday.

Lingering rain overnight will mix with snow or sleet and change over to all snow around daybreak Monday morning. Snow, possibly mixing with rain at times early, will last for several hours on Monday before dissipating into the evening hours.

Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected with localized higher amounts possible under heavier bands that develop.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact Monday morning or evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
