UPDATE 1:1pm – Fuel leak cleaned up and the highway has been reopened.

First responders have been called to a Hazmat incident in Cumru Township, 422 eastbound near the 176 interchange, Thursday mid-day.

Initially reported to be a fuel leak by county dispatchers around 11am, eastbound traffic on 422 has been diverted to exit at Lancaster Ave.

Traffic has backup beyond Penn Avenue. The road closure is expected to continue throughout the afternoon.
