A car crashed into a house on Heidelburg Ave in Lower Alsace Township around 10:45pm Wednesday night, leaving the driver of the car injured.

Police say the accident was “possibly domestic related” with one car following another on Carsonia Ave. One car sideswiped the other, causing it to loose control and continue into the house. Tire skid marks can be seen on the road from Carsonia Ave onto Heidelburg Ave.

Although the second car was not at the scene of the accident at the time emergency crews arrived, Police say they can confirm the cars hit each other as “there is a transfer of paint”. Speaking about the second car, police we able to confirm it, and the driver have been located. “we do have the other party”.

Both Lower Alsace Fire Department and Mt. Penn Fire Department responded to the call. After a preliminary search of the residence, they found the homeowners were not inside the house at the time of the crash. After an initial investigation, firefighters learned 3 of the homeowners pets were missing. All 3 were eventually found safe.

Tonya Cruz, a neighbor who lives across the street heard the accident from her house. “Well, I heard a crash, it was very very loud.” says Cruz. Fearing her parked car was struck, she quickly ran outside. “I came outside, I saw my cars were ok, and I heard a sizzling, and I saw one guy in the car.”

Cruz called the police immediately. “He couldn’t get out of his car, there was a nurse that pulled up while I was on the phone with 911.” says Cruz. “The nurse told the guy don’t get out of the car, at that point he was talking and coherent.”
