City announces trash collection changes, street sweeping suspension amid winter weather

The City of Reading has announced adjustments to trash and recycling collection, street sweeping, and City Hall operations in response to the forecasted icy conditions on Thursday, February 6.

To ensure public and employee safety, the city has modified its waste collection schedule. Residents with Thursday pickup will have their trash and recycling collected on Friday, February 7, while those with Friday collection will see service pushed to Saturday, February 8.

Additionally, street sweeping operations will be suspended on Thursday, February 6.

City Hall will also operate on a delayed schedule, opening at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday to accommodate potentially hazardous travel conditions.
