About Me
I’m Jason Hugg, founder and editor of Berks Weekly. My work in local media started 10 years ago with Reading Magazine, where I focused sharing stories from around the City of Reading. Berks Weekly grew from that idea and expanded across Berks County. My background is in photography, video, and digital media, and I’ve always enjoyed being where things are happening, meeting people, and finding interesting ways to share what I find.
On any given day, I might be at the scene of breaking news, interviewing someone with an interesting story, checking out a new business or creating a video about something people may not know about. That variety helps Berks Weekly offer a broader look at the community — from important local news and personal stories to places, events, and experiences worth discovering.
