Cafe Folino officially opened its doors on Hill Avenue Monday morning welcoming patrons to savor the flavors of Italy in the heart of Wyomissing. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by local elected officials and community members, marked a milestone for owner Joe Folino and his family.
During the ribbon-cutting, Joe Folino shared the inspiration behind the cafe, stating, “Our dream was coming from Italy to the land of opportunity to create a business, hire people, and be prosperous. Thanksgiving being this week was the perfect time for a grand opening because we are so thankful and appreciative.”
Mayor Fred Levering expressed his delight, highlighting the challenges overcome during the cafe’s development. “This cafe is just a great example of something that’s unique and special. The Borough likes to think of itself as a special place, and we welcome you. We are happy to have you here.”
Cafe Folino is an extension of the successful Mangia! Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Mohnton, promising a unique experience in Wyomissing. Joe Folino explained, “We wanted to bring a different flair to Wyomissing as a café, but the same quality of food as Mangia!”
The cafe’s menu features authentic Italian offerings, including real espresso, cappuccino, and lattes imported from Italy. Joe Folino emphasized the focus on quality, stating, “We had success with breakfast at Mangia! and wanted to bring a café to Wyomissing with a full breakfast and lunch menu.”
Family plays a pivotal role in the Folino business ventures, with Joe expressing gratitude, “Our family is number one, and without my family, I wouldn’t be able to do it. We all stick together and have made all our businesses successful by working very hard.”
Exciting plans are on the horizon, as Joe also shared his brother Marco will soon open Vitner’s Table by Folino Estate down the street, a satellite location of Folino Estate Winery, featuring a restaurant, full-service bar, wine for sale and offer a Sangria bar.
Cafe Folino invites the community to indulge in a full breakfast menu, boasting items like eggs, omelettes, French toast, and pancakes. Unique options such as banana foster French toast and breakfast pizza add a distinctive touch. The lunch menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, flatbreads, and more.
Located at 951 Hill Avenue in Wyomissing, Cafe Folino opens its doors Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air, Cafe Folino invites the community to savor the essence of Italy in every sip and bite.
