Berks County to kick off 275th anniversary celebration March 11

The County of Berks invites residents, community leaders, and partners to join in celebrating the kickoff of Berks 275, commemorating the 275th anniversary of the incorporation of Berks County, at a special public event on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Miller Center at Reading Area Community College.

The evening will begin with an invitation-only reception from 5 to 6 pm., followed by a formal program from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The program will include welcoming remarks, recognition of the many committee members and volunteers helping to bring Berks 275 to life, and a brief video overview of photographs from Berks County’s rich history. County Historians will highlight major milestones that have shaped Berks over the past 275 years, and County Commissioner Michael Rivera will share reflections on the future of Berks County and the opportunities ahead.

The program will also feature promotion of the Berks 275 website and calendar of events, showcasing the yearlong celebrations planned across the county, culminating in the official symbolic opening of Berks 275.

This kickoff event marks the beginning of a countywide commemoration honoring Berks County’s past, celebrating its present, and looking forward to its future. The public is encouraged to attend and be part of this historic moment as Berks County launches its 275th anniversary celebration.
