City of Reading to begin 2026 yard waste collection March 30

The City of Reading has announced the start of its 2026 yard waste collection program, which will begin Monday, March 30, and continue throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons.

Residents are encouraged to schedule yard waste pickups in advance to ensure timely collection.

Collections will take place on Mondays in Northeast Reading and Hampden Heights, Tuesdays in areas south of Penn Street, East Reading, Hessian Camp, and the 18th Ward, and Wednesdays in Northwest Reading, Northmont, Riverdale, and Glenside.

Residents can schedule a pickup by calling the Streets Division at 610-655-6285, contacting the City Service Center at 1-877-727-3234, or using the Reading 311 mobile app, which is available for free on mobile devices.

City officials also reminded residents to properly bundle or bag yard waste and place it at the curb ahead of their scheduled collection.
