A 29-year-old Muhlenberg Township resident is facing multiple felony charges following a drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force.
Authorities identified the suspect as Sandrew Gonzalez, of the 2600 block of Kutztown Road. Following a two-month investigation into suspected drug sales in the township, detectives executed a search warrant on Gonzalez and his residence on the morning of July 18.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, detectives seized a significant quantity of narcotics and related paraphernalia from the home, including: A marijuana growing operation with tents, lighting, and other equipment. Over two pounds of bulk marijuana. Approximately 10 grams of cocaine. A small amount of crack cocaine. Ninety-seven suspected fentanyl pills. Nine suspected amphetamine pills. Four sheets of suspected LSD. Three digital scales. A Taurus .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol. Two cell phones.
The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to exceed $4,000.
Gonzalez was taken into custody and is awaiting arraignment. He has been charged with manufacture and possession with intent to deliver cocaine, fentanyl, LSD, and marijuana, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and firearms violations.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
