The Reading Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday evening, July 10th, 2024, in City Park.
Officers responded to the area of City Park, 1100 block of Washington Street, at approximately 9:30 pm, for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a 19 year-old adult male victim identified as Rafael Tinoco-Villagomez with a gunshot wound to the chest. Tinoco-Villagomez was transported to Reading Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Through the course of the investigation it was determined that there was a gathering taking place at City Park and during the gathering Tinoco-Villagomez was shot.
Police say there is no suspect information at this time.
