State police investigating attempted homicide during home invasion in Rockland Township

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an attempted homicide that occurred during an early morning home invasion in Berks County.

According to a public information release from PSP Reading, three armed individuals entered a residence in the 100 block of Beaver Creek Road in Rockland Township around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, July 18. During the incident, the suspects shot a victim in the leg before ransacking the home and stealing multiple items.

State police say the suspects fled the scene around 2:53 a.m., leaving in a newer model white Honda Civic or Accord. They were last seen heading toward Lyons Road.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Trooper Jared Clugston of PSP Reading at jclugston@pa.gov or 610-378-4024.

Police noted that details remain preliminary and are subject to change as the investigation continues.
