State Police seek public’s help in identifying dog owner after attack

Pennsylvania State Police in Reading are seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dog that attacked another dog in Penn Township Friday afternoon, near the intersection of Route 183 and Old Church Road.

According to state police, the victim was with her dog, a Bichon-Poodle, on leash at the sunflower field. As she was leaving, a man and his dogs were nearby, both dogs off leash. The german short haired pointer approached her dog and began attacking, leaving her dog severely injured.

Police believe the owner of the attacking dog is as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with brown hair and some facial hair. However, they added that the victim did not have a great description of him. The man also had a second dog with him, a golden retriever or yellow lab, which did not bite her dog.

Anyone who can identify the owner of the pictured Grey Ford F-150 pickup truck, registration unknown, who has a German short haired pointer and a golden retriever is asked to call PSP Reading at 610-378-4011, reference incident number 23-1026850.
