An 18-year-old Spring Township resident is facing multiple felony charges in connection with a September 2024 crash in Tilden Township that killed one juvenile and injured another, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office announced this week.
Isaac Orsag, of Buckman Avenue, has been charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle, DUI-related offenses, and several traffic violations, including reckless and careless driving.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 10:16 p.m. on September 17, 2024, when Orsag was traveling southbound on Route 61 in a 2009 Toyota Camry at approximately 75 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. Investigators say Orsag struck the rear of a tractor-trailer attempting to turn left onto a ramp at the intersection with Ramp H Spur Road.
Two juvenile passengers were in the Camry at the time of the crash. One, later identified as Tyreece Geng Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene from head trauma. The other suffered serious injuries. Orsag himself sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured spine and traumatic brain injury, according to the affidavit.
State police troopers who arrived at the scene reported a strong odor of alcohol and found a can of alcoholic beverage inside the car. A subsequent toxicology report showed Orsag had a blood alcohol concentration between .121% and .133%, in addition to testing positive for alcohol, THC, and benzodiazepines. Orsag was also 17 at the time of the crash, making him a minor under Pennsylvania DUI law.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Orsag admitted to police during a later interview that he had been “going fast” and didn’t think the truck “was going to hit me.” Investigators noted that no mechanical issues were found on the vehicle, and the crash data recorder confirmed Orsag accelerated shortly before impact, with no signs of braking.
The affidavit also referenced a phone found at the scene displaying a screen that suggested recent use, and a small bag containing suspected marijuana was recovered from the vehicle.
Charges against Orsag include: Homicide by vehicle while DUI, Aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, DUI (general impairment and controlled substances), Recklessly endangering another person, Driving at unsafe speeds, Careless and reckless driving, Failure to wear a seatbelt, Operating a vehicle as a minor with alcohol in his system.
A warrant was issued for Orsag’s arrest on July 23, 2025. The investigation was conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L – Hamburg.
