Two juveniles charged after multiple vehicles damaged in Reading parking garages

The Reading Police Department announced Wednesday night that two juveniles have been charged in connection with a series of vehicle damage incidents reported earlier this month in city parking garages.

According to Police Chief Javier Ruiz, officers received multiple reports on December 11, 2025, of vehicles that had been damaged while parked in several parking garages throughout the city. The investigation was handled by patrol officers and criminal investigators.

“As a result of the hard work and dedication of several officers and criminal investigators, two juveniles have been charged in relation to the incidents,” Ruiz said in a video update released by the department.

Police said they are also working closely with the Reading Parking Authority to address safety concerns and implement preventative measures moving forward.

Ruiz said the department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the investigation. He added that Mayor Eddie Morán expressed gratitude for the officers’ response and reiterated the city’s commitment to public safety.
