The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is pleased to announce the relaunch of the Career Ready Berks Platform, a countywide online system designed to connect Berks County students with meaningful career exploration experiences offered by local employers.
The refreshed platform serves as a bridge between education and industry, allowing students to explore real-world career paths while providing businesses with the opportunity to help shape the future workforce. Through the platform, educators can connect directly with employers offering experiences such as job shadowing, internships, workplace tours, and guest speaking engagements.
“BCIU’s Career Ready Berks Platform is now updated for all Berks County educators and businesses that have accounts. Ensuring access to this resource is essential to fostering meaningful connections between education and industry,” said Jill Darlington, Assistant Program Administrator, Office of Professional Learning at the BCIU.
“The platform is designed to support students in gaining valuable career exposure and developing the skills necessary for future success. By strengthening these partnerships, we are investing in the talent within our community and encouraging students to build their futures right here in Berks County, where a wide range of rewarding career opportunities are available for them.”
The BCIU’s Career Ready Berks initiative supports Pennsylvania’s Career Education and Work (CEW) Standards, helping students meet their career readiness benchmarks through access to authentic learning experiences across a wide range of industries.
As part of the relaunch, the platform now features updated business contacts and enhanced tools that enable educators to easily find, request, and coordinate opportunities for students. These improvements simplify collaboration among educators, employers, and students, helping to prepare students for high-demand careers in Berks County.
Local businesses interested in joining the Career Ready Berks network can fill out a provider request form on the website. Educators can log into their account to browse available experiences and connect students to opportunities that align with classroom learning and individual interests.
