Berks History Center presents a powerful photojournalism program capturing six decades of Berks County life

The Berks History Center (BHC) invites the public to experience Eagle Eyes: The Times of Our Lives in News Photos Through Six Decades, a captivating program that explores the rich tapestry of Berks County’s history through the lens of local photojournalism. This engaging presentation features approximately 100 photographs from the Reading Eagle and Reading Times, spanning the 1960s through the 2010s.

Attendees will have two opportunities to enjoy this special event, each offering a unique atmosphere and perspective on the art of visual storytelling.

Thursday, November 6 at 5:30 p.m.
Guests are invited to enjoy a light supper and beverages before settling in for an evening of conversation and reflection. Esteemed photographers whose work has documented Berks County’s evolving story will take part in a panel discussion moderated by former Reading Eagle staffers Bruce Posten and Donna Reed. The panel includes former Reading Fire Chief, William Rehr; local historian and content creator, Alexa Freyman; and Reading Eagle photographer, Bill Uhrich, followed by an audience Q&A.
Cost: $15 for BHC Members / $25 for Non-Members

Start the day with coffee and donuts while immersing yourself in the same thought-provoking program. This session will be moderated by Bruce Posten, Donna Reed and the rest of the panel.

Highlights of Eagle Eyes include a dynamic showcase of photographs capturing the spirit and essence of Berks County across six decades, personal insights from the photographers behind the lens, and reflections on the evolving art and impact of photojournalism.
