The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles will welcome car enthusiasts and community members to its fourth annual Cars & Cones event on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
The free, low-key cruise-in will take place in the museum’s parking lot, adjacent to the entrance. No registration is required for participants, and both classic and modern vehicles are welcome. Spectators can enjoy the display at no cost, with parking available in the museum’s upper lot and along the street.
During the event, The Peppermint Stick Candy Store and Ice Cream Parlor will be on site offering ice cream and other treats for purchase. The museum will also have extended hours for visitors.
Cars & Cones will coincide with Building a Better Boyertown’s Farmers Market, which runs from 4 to 8 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month through September. The market features local growers, artisans, food trucks, and vendors such as Amid the Moss, Bauer Custom Woodworking, Bread in Bloom, Hinterhof Farm, Kaizen Farms, Lehigh Valley Peanut Butter, Nae Nae’s Cakery, Saint Rocco’s Treats, and many others. A petting zoo from Ironstone Creek Farm will also be available.
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, located at 85 S. Walnut St., is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The museum preserves and displays more than 90 locally manufactured cars, trucks, carriages, bicycles, and motorcycles, along with two examples of roadside architecture — a 1921 Sunoco gas station and a 1938 Jerry O’Mahony diner.
