Photographer John Walborn’s lifelong passion for capturing the world through a camera is now on display at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education.
What began in his mid-20s with a small camera, a roll of Tri-X film, and inspiration from his family’s tradition of documenting travel has grown into decades of work spanning landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, wildlife, and abstract compositions. Walborn’s journey has taken him from experimenting in darkrooms to mastering modern digital editing tools, with each piece offering a unique perspective on the beauty of everyday life.
While photography has remained a personal passion, Walborn has also shared his talent with the community by donating many of his works to charitable causes, raising thousands of dollars for nonprofit organizations. Now, he is bringing his portfolio to a wider audience, offering museum-quality prints on canvas, metal, acrylic, and other mediums.
“The Kaleidoscopic Lens of John Walborn” exhibition is open to the public during gallery hours at the Yocum Institute, located at 3000 Penn Avenue in West Lawn. Admission is free.
The exhibit runs through October 11, 2025. For more information, call 610-376-1576 or visit www.yocuminstitute.org.
