WCR Center for the Arts presents Carol Fastuca Landscape Exhibition

An exhibition of landscape paintings by Carol Fastuca is now on view at the WCR Center for the Arts in Reading, highlighting the artist’s long-standing relationship with the natural world and her decades of work exploring place through painting.

The exhibition will remain on display through early February and features a selection of Fastuca’s landscape works, reflecting her ongoing engagement with the environments that surround her. A public gallery reception is scheduled for Friday, January 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the center, ahead of an evening concert presented by Friends of Chamber Music.

Following the reception, a concert featuring the Daedalus Quartet with pianist Matthew Bengtson will begin at 7:30 p.m. The performance is presented in memory of David Thun, and organizers noted that the pairing of Fastuca’s landscape paintings with the concert reflects the Thun family’s dedication to nature and environmental preservation.

Fastuca holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Penn State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Queens College, part of the City University of New York. She spent 15 years teaching painting and drawing at Syracuse University and the University of Maryland Baltimore County and has also taught abroad in London and Florence. Now based in Pennsylvania, Fastuca continues to draw inspiration from the region’s landscapes in her work.
