Drivers in Berks County should expect lane restrictions, closures, and delays next week as PennDOT maintenance crews carry out several road projects across the region. The work is scheduled for Monday, August 25, through Friday, August 29, weather permitting. All projects will take place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Pothole patching on PA 183 in Bern Township – PennDOT crews will perform pothole patching on PA 183 between Suburban Road and Summer Mountain Road in Bern Township. The work will require lane restrictions in both directions with flagging. Motorists should anticipate delays and are advised to drive with caution through the work zone.
Ramp work on PA 737 at I-78 in Greenwich Township – In Greenwich Township, crews will complete maintenance on the PA 737 ramp at Interstate 78. The project will involve ramp restrictions during daytime hours. Delays are expected, and PennDOT urges drivers to use caution while traveling through the area.
Drainage work on Centennial Road in Greenwich Township – Also in Greenwich Township, Centennial Road between State Street and Mary Ann Drive will be closed for drainage improvements. A detour will be in place, and motorists should allow extra travel time.
Shoulder work on I-176 in Cumru Township – In Cumru Township, PennDOT crews will conduct shoulder widening work along Interstate 176 between Exit 11 (U.S. 422) and Exit 10 (PA 724). Lane restrictions will be in effect, and drivers should expect delays when traveling through the area.
