Video: Reading Lifts Suspension of Event Permits, Reopening City Hall

After almost a year, Reading’s special events permit suspension has been lifted and City Hall will reopen to the public. Reading Mayor Eddie Moran and Fire Marshal Jeremy Searfoss made the announcement Tuesday, outlining the new online process to submit event permit applications.

All events happening on or after May 31, 2021, can fill out an permit application on the city’s website: readingpa.gov/content/special-event-permit-application

In addition, Mayor Moran announced that beginning June 1, 2021, City Hall will reopen to the public. Appointments are highly encouraged as there is a maximum capacity of 2 persons per suite (office).
