PennDOT District 5 has released its schedule of upcoming road projects in Berks County, with several maintenance operations expected to cause delays next week. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time through these active work zones.
In Centre Township, maintenance crews will conduct litter removal on Boundary Line Road between Shartlesville Road and Molasses Hill Road. The work will take place from Monday, November 17, through Friday, November 21, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. A daytime lane restriction will be in place, and rain may cause delays.
In Bern Township, pothole patching is scheduled on PA 183 (Bernville Road) from the Schuylkill County line to West Leesport Road. Crews will work from November 17 to November 21 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists can expect daytime lane restrictions with flagging. Rain may impact the schedule.
Also in Bern Township, brush cutting will occur on Eagle Point Road between Krumsville Road and the Lehigh County line from November 17 to November 21. Work will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lane restrictions and flagging. Weather could cause delays.
In Hamburg Borough, utility crews will perform nighttime work on PA 61 between 4th Street and Grand Street beginning Friday, November 14, and concluding Saturday, November 15. Short-term traffic stoppages will be needed for utility line crossing work between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Rain is not expected to delay this project.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and stay alert when traveling through all work areas.
