Paving, bridge repair, lane restrictions: PennDOT upcoming roadwork July 7, 2025

Drivers across Berks County should be prepared for lane restrictions and possible delays as PennDOT maintenance crews undertake several road work projects starting Monday, July 7. All work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will continue through Friday, July 11, unless otherwise noted. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and use caution while driving through active work zones. Here’s a breakdown of where crews will be working:

In Maxatawny Township, PennDOT will begin paving along US 222 between PA 662 and the Lehigh County line. While no specific lane restrictions are listed, delays are expected. Weather may impact the project timeline.

In Exeter Township, drainage work will take place along the eastbound lanes of US 422 between Lincoln Road and Pineland Road. A daytime lane restriction will be in effect throughout the week, with possible weather delays.

Crews will also be working on Oysterdale Road between PA 73 and Landis Store Road in Oley and Pike townships. The project will involve lane restrictions with flaggers directing traffic. Rain could impact the schedule.

In Ontelaunee Township, Shoemakersville Road will see ongoing maintenance between Kindt Corner and Ontelaunee Drive. This project includes a daytime lane restriction with flagging and may be delayed by weather. Note: This section of road is listed twice with similar details.

Additionally, Ontelaunee Drive between Kindt Corner and Lake Shore Drive will undergo one-day work on Tuesday, July 8. Lane restrictions with flaggers will be in place, and the schedule is weather-dependent.

On Wednesday, July 9, crews will focus on Ohlinger Road, also in Ontelaunee Township, between Kindt Corner and Shoemakersville Road. Both eastbound and westbound traffic will face flagging operations. Weather may cause delays.

East Huller Lane between Leesport Avenue and 5th Street Highway is slated for maintenance on Thursday, July 10. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in effect, and rain may affect completion.

Finally, on Friday, July 11, maintenance will take place on Cross Keys Road in Bern Township, between PA 61 and Garfield Road. This work will also involve lane restrictions with flagging and may be impacted by inclement weather.

Drivers should stay alert for signs and workers in all construction zones and are encouraged to plan alternate routes when possible.
