South Heidelberg Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Wednesday evening in Robesonia Borough.
According to the South Heidelberg Police Department, officers and EMS units responded at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Jan. 14 to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at West Penn Avenue and South Brooke Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, later identified as 65-year-old Sherry Yoh of North Heidelberg Township, with critical injuries.
Police said Yoh had parked her vehicle on the north side of West Penn Avenue and was attempting to cross the roadway to meet family members waiting on the south side. Witnesses reported she crossed the westbound lane safely before entering the eastbound lane, where she was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
Yoh was pronounced deceased at the scene. The cause of death was determined by the Berks County Coroner’s Office to be blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
The driver of the striking vehicle and several other motorists stopped immediately and attempted to render aid. Police said the driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The South Heidelberg Police Department thanked the Robesonia Fire Company, Western Berks EMS, and the Berks County Coroner’s Office for their assistance at the scene. Chief Hook briefed Robesonia Mayor Dennis Rick, who extended his condolences to the Yoh family.
