Helping seniors ‘a true passion’ to new Community Relations Director

Sinking Spring senior living community bolsters leadership team as grand opening nears.

Heidi Lyons embraces the opportunity to improve the lives of seniors who hope to make the most of their golden years.

That’s why Lyons’ new role as a Community Relations Director at The Residence at Village Greens suits her so well. The Lancaster County native will assist seniors as they make the transition to the state-of-the-art IntegraCare senior living community set to open this summer in Sinking Spring.

“My true passion is helping seniors make those life decisions on where and how they want to spend their time,” said Lyons, who brings nearly 20 years of experience in senior living to The Residence at Village Greens. “I’m walking them through those steps. It’s really an honor listening to those stories our seniors tell us.”

Lyons’ dedication to senior living care has family roots.

“My love of helping seniors stems from the very close relationship I had with my grandparents,” Lyons said. “That strong relationship grew and evolved into my commitment to working to improve the lives of seniors. They don’t always have people who can advocate for them or guide them. I’ve always enjoyed that role.”

Sinking Spring has become her second home. Lyons will work with The Residence at Village Greens leadership team that includes Executive Operations Officer Terri Sanelli and Kim Kostival, who also is a Community Relations Director.

“I really fell in love with the Berks County area,” Lyons said. “The sense of community I’ve felt in Berks County, I want to pass along that same type of feeling to the new residents in our senior living community.”

Her previous experience includes Personal Care, Memory Care and Independent Living. She also has a background in sales and marketing, as well as in real estate. Lyons earned a degree in business and finance from the University of Phoenix.

“Heidi not only brings valuable experience to our team,” Sanelli said, “she also has such a positive and outgoing personality. She cares about people and is a great fit.”

The Residence at Village Greens is 130,000-square-foot senior living community located at 4400 Haines Street in Sinking Spring. The 131 units will include 60 Independent Living units, 51 in Personal Care and 20 in Memory Care.

“I’m very excited about my role here with IntegraCare, and I’m blessed to be working with such an amazing group,” Lyons said. “I’m looking forward to helping seniors move into our new building and help them thrive and be happy.”
