West Reading French Fry Fest returns August 16 with expanded footprint

The West Reading French Fry Fest is back for its seventh year, taking over more of Penn Avenue than ever before. The popular outdoor event will be held Saturday, August 16, from 600 to 700 blocks of Penn Avenue, closing two blocks to traffic to make room for food lovers and more than 60 local vendors.

Each participating restaurant and vendor will serve up their own take on a crowd favorite: French fries. Visitors can expect everything from classic shoestrings and hand-cut styles to loaded, gourmet creations. Admission is free, with fries and other menu items available for purchase on a pay-as-you-go basis.
