The IM ABLE Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated IM ABLE Games: Races and Reps on the Runway, set to take place on Saturday, September 20, at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA. Back for its second year, this one-of-a-kind event blends fitness, fun, and community—all set against the stunning backdrop of vintage planes on an active airport runway.
This adaptive-friendly, inclusive celebration offers something for everyone—regardless of age, fitness level, or ability. Participants can enjoy the 2-Mile Fun Run, Walk, or Roll, an accessible course welcoming individuals of all abilities to join in the excitement. Those seeking a competitive edge can take on the Sprint Duathlon, a high-energy race featuring a 2-mile run, an 8-mile bike ride, and another 2-mile run to the finish line.
At the heart of the event is the Kaaginator Fitness Challenge, inspired by IM ABLE Founder and Marine Veteran Chris Kaag. This high-energy series of functional fitness stations offers multiple divisions—adaptive, beginner, intermediate, and advanced (self-assigned)—and can be tackled either solo or as part of a team relay—ensuring anyone can test their strength, stamina, and spirit.
For those craving the ultimate test, the Trifecta Triple Crown dares participants to complete all three signature events: the Sprint Duathlon, the Kaaginator Fitness Challenge, and the Hot Wing Hustle sponsored by Klingers at the Airport. In this timed wing-eating showdown, speed is the key, with a cash prize and bragging rights on the line for the fastest finisher.
“Our mission is about creating opportunities for all individuals—no matter their ability—to push themselves, connect with others, and celebrate what they can do,” said Alex A. Pilkington, CEO of the IM ABLE Foundation. “The IM ABLE Games are the embodiment of that mission. It’s more than a fitness event; it’s a statement of inclusion and empowerment.”
“This event is designed to meet people where they are—whether that’s walking, rolling, racing, or just cheering on friends with a craft beer in hand,” added Becky Rennix, IM ABLE Program Director and Race Director. “It’s an unforgettable day of community, determination, and yes— lots of sweat and smiles!”
In addition to races and challenges, attendees can enjoy music, local craft brews, and food vendors. With the Reading Regional Airport Mid-Atlantic Air Museum as the venue, the Games promise a uniquely exhilarating atmosphere complete with vintage aircraft and history in the air.
Don’t miss this high-energy, high-impact event that brings together athletes, families, and the community for a day of movement, motivation, and memories.
