Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg reported three DUI arrests following increased enforcement efforts over the weekend that included a sobriety checkpoint.
State police said troopers increased patrols with a focus on identifying drivers suspected of operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
According to results released Tuesday, Sept. 1, troopers contacted 38 motorists during the enforcement effort. Three people were arrested for DUI involving alcohol and/or drugs.
Troopers also cited one driver for driving with a DUI-related suspended license. Ten traffic citations were issued, along with 23 traffic warnings.
State police reported no arrests for drug possession or paraphernalia, underage drinking or felony offenses. No warrants were served during the enforcement effort.
Pennsylvania State Police said the increased patrols are part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to reduce alcohol- and drug-related crashes and improve roadway safety across the Commonwealth.
