Bethany Children’s Home youth, staff to compete in Dancing with the Reading Stars

Two youth who reside at Bethany Children’s Home are competing in the Yocum Institute for Art Education’s Dancing with the Reading Stars fundraiser, Friday, April 22, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Reading.

CJ Darden, 16, and Ammo Brown, 13, will compete against nine dancing duos, including Bethany team members Pete Clauser and Dawn Dietrich.

The youth have the unique opportunity to work with a Yocum choreographer to create a dance to song of their choice, and perform a 90-second routine in front of a live audience, all while raising money for a worthwhile cause.

The competition is an annual fundraiser for Yocum Institute. The general public can place $10 votes for dance couples now through the evening of the event.

Bethany Children’s Home provides residential and therapeutic services for youth between the ages of 10 and 21 years of age who have experienced some level of trauma in their lives such as abandonment, exposure to crime/violence/poverty, physical abuse, sexual abuse, drug/alcohol exposure and/or continuous placements.
