Reading Museum Hosts Third Annual Wedding Showcase

On Saturday, February 27, the Reading Public Museum hosted their Third Annual Wedding Open House. While the event was free to attend, guests had to schedule a one-hour time slot in advance due to COVID restrictions.

The Reading Public Museum is a desirable wedding venue for many reasons, including competitive pricing and the versatility of the space. Stephanie Shaak, the Vice President of Event and Exhibition Rentals for RPM, shared that engaged couples can choose from the Museum itself, the Planetarium, and the museum’s outdoor event tent as spaces to host their wedding.

At each of the museum’s three venues, brides can expect a truly customizable experience for their special day. “Expect great service, flexibility, and the opportunity to build the wedding you want,” said Shaak.

The flexibility that RPM offers may make it the perfect venue choice for engaged couples as they search for their perfect wedding venue. While couples need to choose from a list of six caterers that RPM uses exclusively for events, they are free to choose any other vendors of their choice.

Shaak shared that RPM has a list of preferred vendors with whom they regularly work, including a photographer, DJ, and photobooth company, which will undoubtedly assist couples in finding the perfect vendor for their perfect day.

Guests at the Wedding Showcase were able to meet with several of RPM’s preferred vendors, and were treated to the sight of The Neag Planetarium decorated for a wedding by Leo Design Gallery of West Reading.

“A [prospective] bride can see how a wedding could look at The Planetarium, with the draping and the tables dressed,” said Shaak. All guests were also entered to win a series of raffled prizes, including an Amazon Echo dot, gift cards, and Sorelli jewelry. Attendees also received a “swag bag” full of “wedding planning goodies” upon departure from the event.

Of all of the reasons that make RPM a wonderful choice for a wedding venue, their strict compliance with all Covid safety protocols tops the list. Shaak highlighted their beautiful outdoor event tent, which is available April-October, as an excellent space for a Covid-safe wedding.

“We have so many interesting and unique spaces,” said Shaak. “[Our venue] is great for out-of-the-box brides–there are endless ways that you can transform our spaces.”
