2 injured in shooting after vehicle fired upon in downtown Reading, police say

The Reading Police Department has shared preliminary information Sunday afternoon following a shooting that took place overnight in downtown Reading.

According to investigators, the shooting took place in the 300 block of Penn Street at approximately 1:15am and involved 2 male victims, one 29-years-old and the other 32-years-old. Both were in a car driving west in the block when their vehicle was fired upon.

The 29-year-old fell out of the vehicle and was located in the 400 block of Penn Street. He had an injury to his head and a gunshot to his right arm.

The 30-year-old victim had a vehicle accident at the intersection of 5th and Penn Streets and was located with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say both are alive and being treated at the hospital as of 5am. No other information was released.
