Good Samaritan’s car stolen after reported stabbing, suspect a fugitive out of Maryland, police say

Northern Berks Police Department Officers responded to the 900 block of Mohrsville Road, Ontelaunee Township, Thursday, April 13, for a report of a stabbing in the area.

According to police, at around 6:25am, the male actor in the stabbing had stolen a vehicle belonging to a good Samaritan who had stopped to render aid to the victim. With this vehicle, the male actor fled the area.

While officers were responding to the call, they spotted the stolen vehicle and were able to get it stopped on Route 61 at Cross Keys Road. The male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Police have identified the male as Jordan Brown, who was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Weapon, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Theft by Unlawful Taking.

Police say Brown was also determined to be a Fugitive from Justice for unrelated charges in Maryland.

As in every criminal case, the fact that a criminal complaint has been filed is merely an accusation; and the defendant in this case is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
