Spring Township Police investigate shots fired near Elementary School

The Spring Township Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of the Berkshire Hills Townhomes last Friday, February 9, at approximately 6:45 p.m.

According to authorities, at the time of the call, no evidence of any shots fired could be located. Upon further investigation, police say evidence was discovered that multiple shots were fired at the back of the Cornwall Terrace Elementary School and that there were multiple people present at the time of the incident.

Investigators have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

Individuals can reach out to Investigator Jonathan Zaun at 610-678-3431, with assurance that all details will remain confidential. Despite the proximity to the school, authorities believe this was an isolated event unrelated to the school or any school activities.

The Wilson School District sent the following message to parents regarding the incident: “We are reaching out to our families at both Cornwall Terrace Elementary School and Southern Middle School regarding an ongoing police investigation that was initiated as a result of reported gunshots in the vicinity of our campus on Friday night at approximately 6:30 pm. Today, Spring Township Police officers were present on our campus to continue their investigation.
