Stray bullet wounds woman sleeping in Southeast Reading home

A woman was hit and injured by a stray bullet while sleeping early Saturday morning in Southeast Reading, according to police.

The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident, which took place in the 300 block of South 7th Street, September 17, 2022 around 2am.

According to investigators, the 43-year-old victim suffering a minor graze wound to her lower right calf while sleeping in the first-floor front room of her home. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

“We have received reports that an unknown subject fired into 2 homes in the block at approximately 2:00am on Sept. 17th” said investigators.
