Berks Sinfonietta invites the community to come together for an evening of homegrown artistry and timeless music with its upcoming concert, “Music in C,” on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 7:30 PM. The performance will take place at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing, PA. Buy Tickets Here.

True to its mission of reimagining and reintroducing great music to local audiences, the Sinfonietta will explore the beauty and power of the key of C major and minor. The program includes Symphony No. 1 in C Minor by Louise Farrenc, a French 19th-century composer, pianist, and teacher whose symphonic voice is finally receiving the recognition it deserves.

Also featured is Symphony No. 28 in C Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a sparkling example of his early symphonic mastery. Rounding out the program is George Frideric Handel’s Concerto Grosso in C Major, HWV 318 “Alexander’s Feast,” a festive and dramatic work originally composed to accompany a celebratory ode.

Berks Sinfonietta’s Artistic Director, David McConnell, expressed excitement about bringing Farrenc’s first symphony to the stage. “The orchestra performed Farrenc’s other two symphonies in 2021 and 2023. Rehearsing her music we quickly learned just how brilliant and exciting it is – and the audience’s enthusiasm when hearing the performances clearly showed they felt the same!”

“So, I am thrilled we are now presenting her first symphony (sadly, she only wrote three), because performing her music is thrilling, and I am sure it will be loved by both seasoned concertgoers and newcomers alike. And how wonderful that this ensemble of locally sourced professional and up-and-coming musicians can introduce listeners to music that absolutely deserves to be part of the standard repertoire – so many unheard riches out there, waiting to be discovered” said McConnell.

“Music in C” is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of classical music’s ability to bring people together. With a program that balances well-loved classics and underrepresented works, Berks Sinfonietta continues its tradition of offering audiences a refreshing and inspiring experience.

The concert will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 7:30 PM at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing. For more information about this performance and future events, or to buy tickets, visit berkssinfonietta.org.
