Despite the cancellation of West Reading’s 26th Annual Art on the Avenue (which was scheduled for August 22, then cancelled earlier in the week), the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Dressed in Love Bridal Suite was a resounding success.
The crowd that gathered to celebrate the long-awaited opening of this store maintained a respectful social distance from one another, while no one was allowed to enter the shop itself for a tour unless they were wearing a mask.
“I want to thank my husband for his unwavering support, and my parents, for helping me with the store…for all of you guys who I’ve cried to [and] complained to, talked to about getting this started…thank you all so much for coming today. I truly appreciate it more than I could ever say. I’m so excited for you guys to see what we’ve been working on, and I can’t wait to help Berks County get dressed in love!” a tearful Alger exclaimed, as she proudly cut the ribbon crossing the brick front steps of her store, which was lovingly held at each end by her husband and her mother.
Following the ribbon cutting, those who had come to celebrate Alger’s success were invited to tour the shop, albeit in small, socially-distanced groupings. When you step into Dressed in Love you are immediately surrounded by elegance and beauty: stunning sample gowns, sparkling custom Sorelli jewelry, and private areas where brides and their bridal parties can try on gowns.
The unique split-level layout of the store ensures that two different brides could book an appointment on the same day, and yet have their own special, private experience.
Guests were invited to enjoy mini cupcakes from local West Reading business Ady Cakes (one of Dressed in Love’s preferred vendors, and a former winner of Food Network’s show Cupcake Wars), and to sample champagne as they enjoyed their lovely surroundings.
Dressed in Love will be officially open to the public for bookings on September 1, 2020
