Police Investigate Series of Burglaries and Suspicious Fire at Stokesay Castle

The Central Berks Regional Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries and now a suspicious fire that have occurred at Stokesay Castle, 141 Stokesay Castle Lane, Lower Alsace Township.

Early Wednesday morning at 03:19am, Central Berks Regional Police Department and local fire departments were dispatched to Stokesay Castle for a report of a fire alarm activation.

When officers and fire personnel arrived on scene, it was found that unknown actor(s) had entered the building and a fire was found to be burning inside a desk in one of the offices. The fire was quickly extinguished and the circumstances surrounding the fire is still under investigation.

The Incidents

  • 11/27/2019 at 23:06 hrs. – Burglary – two males – bottles of liquor stolen.
  • 2/17/2020 at 04:03 hrs. – Burglary – two males, one possible female – bottles of liquor and cash stolen.
  • 4/16/2020 at 03:19 hrs. – Burglary & Suspicious Fire – unknown actor(s).
