Christine M. Remley, Ph.D., to lead Albright's undergraduate and graduate programs in education.

Albright College has announced the appointment of Christine M. Remley, Ph.D., as dean of the School of Educational Innovation at Albright College.

Remley will continue Albright’s long-standing history of educating teachers through a range of deeply experiential programs, which have recently been recognized by Colleges of Distinction. She will lead Albright’s undergraduate and graduate programs in education, the combined 4+1 bachelor’s and master’s degree in education program, and post-graduate certifications in K-12, secondary education, and special education PreK-12.

With more than two decades of experience working, teaching, and leading in higher education, Remley joins Albright from the University of North Texas at Dallas where she has served as dean of the School of Education since 2022.

“Experiential learning has long been a hallmark of an Albright College education and Dr. Remley will continue that long tradition,” said Debra Townsley, Ph.D., interim president. “She is an experienced leader whose strengths and expertise will further enhance Albright’s strong undergraduate and graduate programs in education.”

Prior to her appointment at UNT Dallas, she served as a professor of education, department chair, and interim dean of the college of liberal arts and education at Lock Haven University. Dr. Remley’s background and expertise is deeply rooted in experiential learning, digital technology and educational theory. She has presented and published on topics such as student-centered investigative studies, active engagement and inquiry in the classroom, preparing high quality teachers during a national teacher shortage, and technology and higher education. Recently, under Dr. Remley’s leadership, the UNT Dallas curriculum was realigned to include intentional uses of artificial intelligence to help students learn how to use AI as an effective production tool and to implement their ideas in the classroom.

Remley, who holds a Ph.D. in instructional systems design from Pennsylvania State University, has developed multiple programs with school districts to train teachers in innovative pedagogies. In partnership with the Dallas School District, a paid teacher residency program, which pays students a salary and benefits to teach in the Dallas School District, was launched under Dr. Remley’s leadership.

She has also received over $7 million in federal grant and foundation grant funding for the UNT Dallas School of Education to support teacher training initiatives.

“I am so excited to join Albright College and to lead the School of Educational Innovation in a new direction,” said Remley. “My interests in increasing diversity in education, improving the teacher pipeline, removing barriers to student success, and fostering socio-economic mobility through education, align perfectly with Albright’s mission and vision.”
