Movies in the Park returns to Wyomissing with four family-friendly films

Wyomissing’s popular Movies in the Park series is returning this month, offering families and neighbors a chance to enjoy free outdoor movie nights at local parks.

The series kicks off Saturday, Aug. 9, at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park with a showing of The Wild Robot, based on the best-selling novel by Peter Brown. The Wyomissing Hills Citizens Social Committee will provide free popcorn, and Kona Ice will be on site with shaved ice treats.

The second film in the series, Moana 2, will be shown Friday, Sept. 20, at Happy Hollow Playground. The sequel follows Moana and Maui on a daring ocean voyage to break a mysterious curse. Organizers say there may be special guests before the movie begins.

On Friday, Sept. 27, Berkshire Heights Playground will host a screening of Pixar’s Luca, a coming-of-age story about friendship and self-discovery set in a seaside Italian town.

The series wraps up Friday, Oct. 4, with the live-action Lilo & Stitch on the lawn of the historic Stone House. The evening will feature the beloved story of family, friendship and a little intergalactic chaos.
