The Reading Theater Project is delighted to announce the 2020 Jazz Cabaret on Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Olympian Ballroom, 603 Penn Ave, West Reading PA, 19611. Admission is free.
The cabaret will both celebrate the Greater Reading/Berks artistic community and serve as the theater company’s annual fundraiser. The night will showcase local musicians, performers, visual artists, and businesses.
The Master of Ceremonies will be the magician Matty Whipple, and the performance lineup includes: Chris Heslop’s Roaring 20s Dance Orchestra featuring Chris Heslop, Paul Gallello, Ken Gehret, Trey LaRue, Kelly Powers, Bob Stoyko, Josh Taylor, and vocalist Maria Damore.
Also appearing onstage: drag entertainer Amie Vanité and dancing champion Rachel Skye. Attendees to the Cabaret are encouraged to wear their 1920s best! Throughout the cabaret, audience members can enter a raffle to win one of several gift certificates to the tastiest restaurants in the area.
There is a silent auction with prizes from many West Reading shops and restaurants, 2021 Berks Jazz Fest VIP passes, art by muralist Andrew Pochan, jewelry by Jane Runyeon, and much more. There will be a cash bar, but all ages are welcome to attend the event.
The Reading Theater Project is a multigenerational collective of performing artists who create new theater in Reading, PA.
