WCR Center for the Arts unveils 2025–2026 season lineup featuring music, culture, and community events

The WCR Center for the Arts has announced its 2025–2026 season, offering a diverse slate of performances, workshops, and community events aimed at enriching Berks County’s cultural landscape.

The new season includes free and ticketed events, ranging from classical and international music to educational programs and interactive experiences. WCR Center Board President Jayme Rhoads emphasized the center’s commitment to accessibility and community engagement.

“At the WCR Center for the Arts, we believe in the power of the arts to bring people together and inspire our community,” Rhoads said. “This season, we are proud to present a diverse lineup of performances, events, and programs—some of which are free and open to the public—because we believe that access to the arts should be a right, not a privilege.”

The season begins with a free community kick-off event on Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m., featuring music, dancing, and announcements to welcome guests back to the venue.

Dr. Richard Kogan: Schumann – Music, Mood Swings & Madness – Sunday, September 21, 2025, 3 p.m. A concert-lecture exploring the life and music of composer Robert Schumann through the lens of creativity and mental health, led by renowned pianist and psychiatrist Dr. Richard Kogan.

Spyros Koliavasilis: A Musical Tour of Ancient and Modern Greece – Saturday, November 1, 2025, 8 p.m. Multi-instrumentalist Spyros Koliavasilis will showcase the musical heritage of Greece, from traditional to modern sounds.

Guitar-a-Rama – Thursday, November 20, 2025. A guitar-focused event led by Dave Kline, featuring a workshop and concert with international acts, including Busker Incognito and Travellin’ Brothers from Spain.

Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest – March 19–29, 2026. The WCR Center will again serve as a venue for the annual jazz festival, with details forthcoming about the return of Hot Club of Reading.

WCR Wedding Expo – Sunday, March 1, 2026. An opportunity for couples to explore local wedding vendors, enjoy live music, and tour the historic venue.

YogaSing with Suzanne Jackson – Spring 2026, date to be announced. A workshop and concert experience that blends yoga and vocal expression.
